We decided Christmas Eve was the perfect time to let our parents and Mike's siblings in on the news. Well, we pretty much had to because I would have to be playing the "sick card" to get out of drinking once again...two weekends in a row. But it was really great timing because my parents were in town as well. We had everyone over for before our dinner at Capital Grille Party and were opening presents. Once everyone was finished, we gave both our parents Christmas cards. There was really nothing too special about the cards except we signed them "Love, Mike, Megan, and Baby." They seemed confused at first, then caught on when we stayed quiet. There was definitely a little screaming, a lot of tears, and very exciting grandparents and aunts/uncles-to-be. We were so happy to have everyone in the same place so we could share our news.
The hardest part was everyone was sworn to secrecy. Since I wasn't very far a long - only 6 weeks, we asked everyone to hold off on spreading the news until I was in my 2nd trimester. It was definitely difficult on the mom's...but they kept their end of the bargain and we are very thankful for that!
